He who binds himself to a joy
Does the winged life destroy
He who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in Eternity's sunrise
William Blake
I was born in New York and have lived in Hong Kong, England, and for the past 20 years around the Bay Area in California. My home now is on Sonoma Mountain.

Working with images has been an offshoot of my work as an advertising copywriter, high school English and Drama teacher, and sports coach.
My eye is drawn to beauty and energy where and when I find it. This is usually in nature or human expression. Travelling helps, though my garden is just as inspirational.
In terms of technique, I suppose I work most on my attention, and try to stay alert enough to know when something good might be about to happen. That way the eye and the camera (usually a Sony a6100, sometimes my phone) stand a chance of kissing those joys before they fly away.
