'Monochromes' is my attempt at playing with individual strands of color.  I've been wondering what makes the difference between art and decoration.  Putting this series together was, I suppose, a reflex to try and answer this.  I found it interesting to see what happened when certain colors from nature were allowed to bleed to a point just beyond their normal bounds.   The dynamic between color and form shifted a little.   And this in turn took one's mind to a new, more contemplative place.  A place where the object of my lens might appear a bit less ordinary, a bit more exciting, even romantic.
